In this highly entertaining and informative new history, Jackson traces the Northumbrian legacy from the traditions of industry to the North Eastern enlightenment and beyond." -Waterstones.
[Need we say more, this will be a brilliant night.]

Chris Ormston:
Chris is regarded with utmost respect as a Northumbrian Piper, and he even topped the USA album charts as a session musician on Peter Gabriel’s ‘Us’. Chris will perform for us, and will also talk about the special connection of the history of the Northumbrian pipes to North Shields.

Paul Summers
Summers has been poetically documenting Northumberland’s people & places for over three decades; equally at home with the post-industrial or pastoral, with the language of Beauty & decay, love & rage, he’s a trustworthy chronicler of topography & experience.

Hector Gannet
Aaron Duff - lead singer of HG will perform a selection of songs written about and inspired by his home county of Northumberland, some taken from the critically acclaimed 2020 debut album Big Harcar (named after one of the Farne Islands) and also isome more recent material.
